Flatbush

We’re interested in a few houses in Flatbush, but don’t know much about the area.
How’s the area by the Beverly Road 2,5 train station (four block radius)? Is it safe? Where is the nearest supermarket? Playground?
Is there any drug activity in the surrounding area? or any known gang voilence?
What are the major streets? bus routes?
Any info or feedback would be great.
